Before any part is chosen
What Gets Measured Before Parts Are Picked
On a big door, a guess costs more than on a small one, so we begin with a tape measure and a way to find the door's weight. Width and height set the track length, cable run and shaft size. Weight, which we weigh directly or work out from the construction, sets the spring size and tells us whether the opener can handle the door.
Headroom above the opening decides whether a standard, low-headroom or high-lift track will fit, and side room decides where the mounting plates and a wall-mount opener can go. With those numbers in hand, the parts fit and run right the first time.
